Our DNA & History

Comptoir des Cotonniers, french brand created in 1995, designs collections reflecting its values anchered in french culture and craftsmanship. Simple and elegant pieces, inspired from daily life and workwear with a hint of masculine wardrobe, adapt themselves to all occasions, remaining relevant at all times. Creation of Comptoir des Cotonniers.

Opening of the first Store in Toulouse and Paris.

1997

Launching of Mother & Daughter concept.

2001

Opening of the first store abroad, in Barcelona.

2010

Creation of e-commerce website.

2012

Creation of Mademoiselle Plume, ultra light down in partnership with Uniqlo.

2015

The brand celebrates its 20th birthday and sets a collaboration with Charlotte Gainsbourg and her daughter.

2020

In November 2020, Comptoir des Cotonniers opens a new address in the heart of the Marais.

14, rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie was once a cookie factory, and later the workshop of a famous architect.

More than 400m2 in one piece and on the same level, with a magnificent glass roof in the center set on an Eiffel-type steel structure. 

In the center, under the glass roof, the luminous space hosts a large wood and metal structure highlighting key pieces and looks.

The details are both original and meticulous: starting with the oak floors recovered from freight train carriages. The forest green displays imitate those of the bookstores along the Seine and a large recycled wood counter acts as a cash desk under magnificent papier-mâché lighting fixtures.
